A panel event with four best-selling crime writers who will share the secrets, the lies, the mystery and magic behind creating crime stories that you can’t put down.

Caroline Green is a Sunday Times best selling writer who is a writer in residence in Pentonville Prison. Her new book Down Among the Dead is the gripping new binge-worthy police procedural crime thriller with a supernatural twist

Mari Hannah is a multi-award-winning author/screenwriter and former chair of Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival. She lives in rural Northumberland with her partner, an ex-murder detective. Mari’s fifteenth book, the long-awaited Kate Daniels thriller, The Longest Goodbye, is out on January 18, 2024. 

Trevor Wood is a multi-award-winning crime fiction writer. He has lived in Newcastle for more than 30 years and considered himself an adopted Geordie. A playwright who has also worked as a journalist and spin-doctor for the City Council,  his first novel The Man on the Street, was published by Quercus in March 2020. His new novel, You Can Run is now out.

Christie Newport is a mixed-race writer living in Northumberland. Since developing a rare illness as a child, Christie found reading and creating stories to be an escape. In recent years Christie has honed her skills through courses and various opportunities. Christie is the winner of the first Joffe Books Prize for Crime Writers of Colour for her debut THE RAVEN’S MARK. Her new book THE ORDINARY MAN is out 8 February 2024
