Do you enjoy theatre, dance and film?
Do you want to help a local charity and be a part of the local community?
Would you appreciate a flexible volunteer role that welcomes your support as and when you are free to commit?
Then look no further!
We are always happy to add to our existing team of volunteers and are happy to speak to anyone who would be interested. We have two roles currently on offer – Front of House Volunteer and Technical Volunteer. We are a happy team and we want to share our enthusiasm and passion for our programme with our volunteers and patrons alike. We want our volunteers to enjoy the roles and to find that although it involves some commitment and responsibility, they feel well trained, supported and confident. It is a lively, fun and enjoyable environment to be a part of.
Under 18s – For anyone under 18 who is looking to get involved with supporting Alnwick Playhouse/the arts or gaining experience in our sector, we would welcome your support with our Youth Theatre. By becoming a Youth Theatre member you can gain valuable experience, have fun and develop your skills. For example, you could become a YT leader. This would help with drama skills development and leadership skills. Please email our Youth Theatre Director Sarah McLane to discuss possible opportunities sarah.mclane@alnwickplayhouse.co.uk
Front of House Volunteers – aged 18 and over – essentially meet and greet patrons to our venue; check tickets; perhaps sell refreshments and merchandise; are seated inside the auditorium for the show and would need to help staff evacuate patrons in the event of a fire or emergency.
Technical Volunteers – aged 18 and over – help us to welcome, support and engage with the artiste(s); providing a friendly, local and personal welcome to our venue. They assist incoming companies with knowledge of the building to ensure the artiste(s) visit is a safe, accessible and enjoyable experience. They will be able to observe, assist or take part in technical roles such as: prepping the venue, get-ins, get-outs and live shows (where possible).
For more information about these roles please click on the links below.
As the auditorium and backstage both have steps we do need volunteers to be mobile, but the roles are flexible and there is only a small amount of training to undertake. If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer or simply want to learn more about the roles please contact Jo on 01665 660550 or email volunteers@alnwickplayhouse.co.uk
